Cap 1-5 cm; stalk 3-10 cm long x 5-30 mm diameter, equal

Spores

Ascospores 17-21 x 10-14 µm, ellipsoid, smooth, with one oil droplet.

Diagnostic macroscopic feature

The multi-ribbed whitish stalk and folded, wrinkled whitish cap make this fungus distinctive. It is told from similar species by the hairiness of the cap undersurface, and margins free from the stalk
